Introducing: Oboe

I’m not familiar with all the different kinds of wind instruments so when I heard about Oboe, i’m so clueless how it looks like and how it is different from other woodwind instruments. So I searched the net to know more about Oboe.

From encyclopedia.com:

Oboe is a woodwind instrument of conical bore, its mouthpiece having a double reed. The instruments possessing these general characteristics may be referred to as the oboe family, which includes the English horn, the bassoon, and the contrabassoon or double bassoon. The oboe was developed in the mid-17th cent. in France from various older double-reed instruments, which the oboe, with its greater expressive and dynamic range, largely displaced by the 18th cent. It was soon used in the orchestra, possibly as early as 1657, and was the principal orchestral woodwind throughout most of the 18th cent., the flute and clarinet gaining an equal footing only late in the century. It was also a favorite solo instrument, and it has an extensive solo and chamber-music literature from the baroque and early classical periods.

And if you’re interested to buy an Oboe check out this website  http://www.wwbw.com/Oboes.wwbw, they have wide varieties of Oboes to choose from.

Wait for the right time

My daughter is having a hard time getting her passport. Her application has been denied three times due to insufficient requirements. What’s lacking her in particular is the government issued ID since she has just graduated from college a few months ago. She already applied for UMID/SSS ID but until she haven’t received it. Oh well, maybe it’s really not yet time for her to travel out of the country. Hope she’ll not rush into it and just wait for the right time to come.

Refreshing music for the Holiday Season

I’m thinking what to do at home while spending my holiday vacation starting next week. Well, perhaps i would just watch movies on the first day, then clean the house the next day while listening to my favorite music anyway they are gospel and instrumental music so i know my neighbor’s won’t mind if i play them out loud. Spicing up my day would be listening also to my daughter while playing the keyboard and her male friends playing their guitars. They are planning to test their newly bought tascam dr-44wl audio recorder. Well, for me this Christmas Season, listening to refreshing music is a good way also to remember the goodness of God in our lives.
