Phuket is one of the most popular islands to visit in Thailand, and whether it is a good thing or not, it is also one of the more commercialised islands. From Karon and Patong to Kata, the towns are picture perfect, and the beaches that surround the island are a joy to behold. If you’re looking for the place to avoid such commercialisation, then old Phuket town is the place for you. Full of traditional markets, street sellers and mini festivals, you’ll have a whale of a time here one of the places to avoid however would be Patong, as it is full of commercial hotels and dingy clubs.

If you are visiting Phuket this summer, then there are number of amazing places to stay.
