Above is the Langkawi Island, it is situated in North Western part of Malaysia in the state of Kedah. It is made up of a group of 99 islands of which langkawi is the largest among the archipelago. It is accessible by boat from Georgetown, Kuala Perlis, Kuala Kedah and Satun, Thailand or by air from Georgetown in Penang, KL and Singapore.

Langkawi island has been declared a duty free island by Malaysian government so all those international tourists hoping for a bargain in Malaysia can avail of great deals on all most all the products.

Being an island the major attraction in Langkawi are its beaches. Major beaches are Pentai Cenang, Pentai Tengah, Pantai Kok and Datai Beach.

There are many other places of interest in Langkawi aside from the beaches namely Eagle square which  symbolizes the island, Underwater world, Rice garden, Snake park, Makam Mehsuri, Crocodile farm, the marine park, etc.

Tourists  can go on a boat cruise to  Kilim Nature Park where they can witness spectacular views of limestone rock foundations in mangrove forests, brown eagles, fish farms and bat caves.
